Spotify is expanding its Fresh Finds program into a yearlong benefits package expected to reach approximately 10,000 emerging independent artists annually.
Fresh Finds Forward will provide 12 months of support after an artist qualifies through placement on one of Spotify’s Fresh Finds editorial playlists.
What participating artists receive
The program includes educational and networking events, early access to selected Spotify tools, preferred consideration for video and touring partnerships, and subscriptions to LANDR Studio Pro and the Splice Creator Plan.
Eligible United States artists may also receive studio time in New York, Nashville or Los Angeles.
The benefits are tangible, but they do not change an artist’s royalty rate and artists cannot directly apply to Fresh Finds Forward as a standalone program.
The practical entry point
Artists added to Fresh Finds playlists since January 1 may receive invitations through Spotify for Artists. The practical route is to schedule distribution early, claim and maintain a Spotify for Artists profile and pitch an unreleased recording through the platform before its release date.
Pitching does not guarantee editorial placement or enrollment. Artists should be cautious of anyone selling guaranteed access to Fresh Finds or Fresh Finds Forward.
Why it matters
Independent artists frequently receive a short burst of playlist exposure without the tools, relationships or planning needed to turn attention into durable audience growth. A 12-month support window could help artists build stronger release strategies, visual assets, live opportunities and professional networks.
For artists using music research, the strongest sequence is clear: test the song, refine the release plan, deliver the master early and pitch while the recording is still unreleased.
