YUMA, Arizona — KBLU/560 AM is back on the air after approximately seven months of silence, restoring a familiar news-and-talk brand and morning host Russ Clark.
Barrett Media reported the return October 5. The station ceased operations earlier this year under El Dorado Broadcasters and has resumed broadcasting under new ownership.
In a statement reported by Barrett, KBLU describes itself as locally owned, operated and directed. The report does not identify the ownership group in detail or establish its longer-term plans.
A local voice within a syndicated schedule
Clark’s return restores a recognizable local morning presence. Much of the remaining lineup consists of syndicated programming, including Coast to Coast AM, The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show and Our American Stories.
The station has not publicly outlined, in the cited report, whether it will expand locally produced programming beyond the morning show.
Returning a signal to the air gives listeners another option. The broader community benefit will depend on how the operation serves Yuma through local information, public access and coverage when events require more than a national program feed.
The Radio News Now question
How much local news, emergency coverage and community access will come back with KBLU—and what resources will support that service?
