MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — The Milwaukee Bucks are adding a paid streaming option while retaining free local television coverage for the 2026–27 season.
Bucks+ begins carrying games October 5, when Milwaukee hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves in its preseason opener. The announced subscription price is $19.99 monthly or $99.99 for the season, with access through the National Basketball Association’s NBA app and the team’s website.
Locally televised games will also air free on MY24 in Milwaukee and participating affiliates in Green Bay, Madison, La Crosse–Eau Claire and Wausau–Rhinelander. A Duluth–Superior affiliate is to be announced separately.
The offer does not include every game without restriction. The NBA’s eligibility guidance specifies an in-market service, with national blackouts applying to games carried exclusively by national partners.
The arrangement combines broad broadcast access with paid streaming convenience. For local television, the business question is whether this increases total audience and advertising value while preserving the free service.
RNN’s question: Can free television and paid streaming strengthen each other without leaving fans confused about where a game is available?
