WBAL NewsRadio will add a two-hour Baltimore Ravens program to its weekday afternoon schedule beginning November 9, extending the partnership beyond game broadcasts.
Ravens Daily will pair play-by-play announcer Kyle Youmans with former Ravens defensive lineman Michael Pierce. The team’s official program trailer confirms the hosts and a 3–5 p.m. Eastern weekday slot.
As detailed by Barrett Media and Radio Online, Ravens Productions will produce the program at the team’s Under Armour Performance Center. WBAL and Ravens digital platforms will carry it, including through the offseason. Planned segments include analysis, player profiles and interviews.
Access is part of the product
The arrangement gives WBAL a recurring sports program and gives the team a daily broadcast outlet alongside its own digital channels. For listeners, the production credit matters: this is a program made by the organization it covers.
Team-produced programming can provide access to players and staff. That access serves a different purpose from an independent newsroom’s accountability reporting. Stations considering similar arrangements should make the producer clear to audiences and define how the show sits beside their own sports journalism.
Advertising arrangements and audience targets were not detailed in the announcements reviewed. Those will be useful measures of whether the year-round format works as a business.
