NEWPORT, Tenn. — Virtual News Center has added WNPC-FM 92.3 to its affiliate network, providing locally focused newscasts for the Bristol Broadcasting Company station.
The service will supply daily newscasts anchored by Virtual News Center staff while WNPC continues to emphasize local news and community information.
Bristol Broadcasting already uses Virtual News Center for stations in Charleston, West Virginia, and expanded the relationship as WNPC’s news needs changed.
The arrangement is another example of small and midsize radio operators using outsourced newsroom services to maintain local news coverage without carrying the full cost of an in-house news department.
