NEW YORK, New York — Reservoir has signed songwriter-producer Jake Sinclair to a publishing agreement covering his future works and formed a joint venture with him to develop emerging talent.

The September 30 announcement says the partners will identify and sign artists and writers to publishing deals, with Sinclair taking a hands-on creative role.

Sinclair’s collaborators include Panic! At the Disco, Weezer, Fall Out Boy and 5 Seconds of Summer.

A development partnership alongside the rights deal

For emerging writers, the important distinction is access to experienced creative guidance alongside publishing support. Signing a publishing agreement and receiving sustained development are different parts of building a career.

The joint venture’s value will depend on what that support looks like in practice: the time devoted to writers, opportunities to collaborate and the resources available to turn promising work into releases.

The announcement does not establish an open-submission process. Artists should confirm the partners’ actual submission requirements before treating the venture as an available application opportunity.
