Podmerse has opened a podcast sponsorship database designed to help publishers find prospective advertisers and help buyers identify brands appearing on other shows.
The October 28 launch was reported by Advanced Television. The company says its records cover more than two million sponsored episodes across nearly 44,000 podcasts. Those are company-supplied counts, not an independent audit.
Useful leads, not confirmed spending
Podmerse’s public site says users can search sponsors, examine episode-level activity and follow brands or shows. It says the database updates daily and detects both host-read and dynamically inserted sponsorships. The company also acknowledges occasional false positives.
That qualification matters. An identified advertisement can provide a prospecting lead; it does not by itself establish the price paid, campaign results, budget available or willingness to sponsor another publisher.
Before approaching a brand, a seller should check the referenced episode, its date and whether the advertisement is relevant to the audience being offered. With dynamically inserted advertising, the version heard by one listener may differ from another’s.
Check the plan before committing
The public pricing page lists a free tier and a $19 monthly Pro plan. However, its pricing table and FAQ give differing descriptions of free-plan result and follow limits. Prospective users should confirm those terms before relying on the service for an ongoing workflow.
For independent publishers, the opportunity is more informed sponsor research. RNN has not tested detection accuracy or verified that the database produces additional advertising revenue.
