AUSTIN, TEXAS — Norsan Media has completed its $3.5 million acquisition of the former KGSR and launched Poder 93.3, a Regional Mexican station targeting listeners ages 18–49 across the Austin market.
The new format features artists including Grupo Firme, Peso Pluma, Fuerza Regida and Luis R Conriquez. Norsan says the station will be supported by digital and social content, extending the brand beyond its over-the-air signal.
A NEW SPANISH-LANGUAGE COMPETITOR
The launch adds another full-power Spanish-language music option in one of the country’s fastest-changing markets. Its larger test will be whether Poder 93.3 can build a distinct local identity through personalities, community involvement and Austin-specific programming rather than relying on a national-style playlist alone.
Norsan has not yet announced the station’s on-air team. Those appointments—and the amount of live local programming—will show how deeply the company intends to invest in the market.
