WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has named Townsquare Media chief operating officer Erik Hellum first vice chair of its Radio Board executive committee and appointed Salem Media Group chief executive officer Dave Santrella to the Radio Board of Directors.
The appointments take effect immediately, NAB announced in an October 6 release. Both executives assume positions previously held by Allen Power: Hellum takes the executive committee seat, while Santrella fills the New England District board seat.
Hellum already serves on the Radio Board, representing the Southern Texas District. He recently completed a term as chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau and now serves as its immediate past chair.
Santrella became Salem’s chief executive in 2022 and previously chaired NAB’s Board of Directors from 2021 to 2023. His career includes radio operations and the development of Salem’s digital, podcast and video businesses.
The announcement changes NAB’s radio leadership representation. It does not announce a new policy position or explain why Power’s seats became available.
