Broadcast Radio released the public beta of Myriad Playout 7 on September 30, bringing listener requests and song voting directly into its radio automation workflow.

The software was demonstrated at the International Broadcasting Convention, or IBC, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. General release is scheduled for early December 2026.

Listeners can search music made available by a station and send requests through connected websites, applications and web players. Requests appear inside the studio software, while stations retain control over available tracks and their placement.

Participation inside the playout workflow

Other additions include loudness normalization, customizable interface layouts, presenter and show information, and native controls for Elgato Stream Deck devices.

The practical opportunity is reducing the number of separate systems presenters must watch while managing a live program. Listener voting can inform programming, although participation alone should not be treated as a representative audience survey.

This is a beta release. A useful evaluation would check request moderation, repeat submissions, configuration recovery and behavior when a connection fails before placing it in a station’s primary on-air chain.
