Electric Entertainment’s ElectricNOW is expanding its free streaming lineup with 20 channels through FAST Channels TV, including the streaming-platform debut of micro-drama channel VueWho.
The companies announced the agreement November 2. The additions span sports, gaming, art, culture, lifestyle, documentaries and horror.
VueWho brings short serialized storytelling to a scheduled, advertising-supported television channel. Its lineup also includes conversation, lifestyle and entertainment programming; the announcement names Daily Flash, El Flash Latino and other shows alongside the dramas.
For independent producers and broadcasters, the development offers a distribution example worth watching: programming associated with mobile viewing is being packaged into a linear streaming service. It does not, by itself, demonstrate audience demand or a profitable business model for other publishers.
The announcement does not disclose revenue-sharing terms, viewing results or a complete list of the 20 additions. Its reference to FAST Channels TV’s catalog of more than 80 channels should not be read as the number added to ElectricNOW.
