WTAX in Springfield, Illinois, is remembering John LaTessa, its longtime content and technical director, whose death was confirmed by the station’s newsroom.
In an October 18 remembrance, Capitol City Now said staff learned of his death the preceding Friday. LaTessa had worked for Saga Communications for more than two decades.
Colleagues described the behind-the-scenes work he performed to keep programming running smoothly, including operating broadcasts, handling technical responsibilities and contributing commercial voice work.
The station’s tribute emphasizes his dedication to the sound and operation of WTAX and the relationships he built with coworkers.
