Netflix has added Rebecca Lowe to its broadcast team for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, extending its investment in experienced sports presenters alongside its acquisition of live rights.
The October 1 announcement places Lowe alongside previously announced team members Elle Duncan and Andrés Cantor. Netflix says additional members of the presentation team will be announced later.
Lowe has anchored NBC’s Premier League coverage since 2013 and also worked on FOX’s 2026 World Cup coverage. Netflix’s announcement does not establish that she is leaving her NBC role.
The tournament, organized by the International Federation of Association Football, known as FIFA, runs June 24 through July 25, 2027. Netflix holds exclusive rights in the United States and Canada to all 64 matches. Its plans include English and Spanish coverage in the United States and selected French-language coverage in Canada.
For broadcasters, the development illustrates how streaming companies are building recognizable presentation teams around major events. Rights establish access to the games; experienced hosts and commentators shape the viewing experience and help audiences navigate an unfamiliar destination.
Details still to watch include the complete lineup, studio and field production arrangements, accessibility and how subscribers will find live matches and replays.
