NEW YORK, New York — LIV Golf said November 5 that it intends to wind down its operations after a proposed rescue transaction failed, putting the future of its Fox Sports programming in question.

In its official announcement, the league said the restructuring support agreement with BC Partners Credit had been terminated because the parties could not agree on outstanding terms. The proposed recapitalization is not expected to proceed at this time.

The company said it would continue considering alternatives during the wind-down. That leaves open the possibility of a subsequent transaction; it is not confirmation that one will occur.

The Associated Press reported that LIV’s lawyer announced the move at a New Jersey bankruptcy hearing Thursday, rather than proceeding with the proposed “LIV 2.0” relaunch.

Fox Sports had announced nearly 300 hours of LIV coverage for 2026.

The league’s announcement does not spell out the treatment of television rights, advertising commitments, production contracts or broadcast personnel. RNN has not verified a Fox replacement-programming plan or a separate termination of its media agreement. The restructuring support agreement’s termination should not be confused with a confirmed cancellation of the broadcast contract.
