Updated November 6, 2026 — Staff at Ireland’s national broadcaster have returned to its Dublin headquarters after the campus was declared safe following police searches, Press Association reported via ITV News at 1:26 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time.
Bomb threats prompted newsroom evacuations and interrupted live radio in Dublin, Ireland, on November 6, including at national broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) and Newstalk.
Agence France-Presse reported that RTÉ confirmed its buildings had been evacuated after a bomb threat. Broadband TV News reported that the alert also affected premises housing Newstalk and Today FM, and that RTÉ temporarily substituted recorded programming.
Reuters reported at 10:42 Greenwich Mean Time that Newstalk had resumed programming at 10 a.m. after staff were allowed back inside, citing presenter Claire Byrne. RTÉ resumed news output from an outside-broadcast unit; its campus remained closed for police checks at the time of that report.
Irish police, An Garda Síochána, said they were liaising with media organisations and would investigate the threats, according to a statement reported by FM104.
RNN has not verified who sent the threats or any connection to other incidents. The reported clearance of RTÉ’s campus does not establish responsibility for the threats.
