Six Disney Music Group promotion professionals have accepted corporate Voluntary Early Retirement Offers and will officially remain with the company until November 29, according to an October 7 report from Radio and Music Pros, known as RAMP.

The group includes Scot Finck, senior vice president of promotion and partnership marketing; Buddy Deal, vice president of rock and alternative promotion; and DJ Ennis, vice president of pop and hot adult contemporary promotion.

Also accepting offers are promotion and regional marketing directors Jimmy Walorz, Aimee Saiger and Jeff Marks.

A Company Departure Is Not Necessarily Retirement

RAMP specifically cautions that accepting Disney’s package does not mean these professionals are retiring from their careers. The distinction matters for prospective employers and for stations planning future working relationships.

The report does not identify replacement assignments or a future promotion structure. Those details will determine where programmers and artists turn for campaign coordination after the departures.

The RNN Question

Who takes responsibility for the relationships when experienced promotion people leave? Radio programmers and labels need clear campaign handoffs, current contacts and continuity for artists whose releases extend beyond November.
