Christiane Amanpour will leave Cable News Network (CNN) in June 2027, with her interview programs winding down in stages beginning at the end of this year.

The chief international anchor announced the decision Monday, October 19. CNN Chairman Mark Thompson confirmed her departure in a staff memo, according to TheWrap, which received Amanpour’s statement and obtained the memo.

“Amanpour & Company,” carried by Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) stations, will conclude in December 2026. Her CNN International program will move to a weekly schedule in January 2027 and end in May. She will continue reporting for CNN through June.

Thompson said he and Amanpour had discussed the decision for several months. Amanpour said she plans to pursue new projects and continue “The Ex-Files,” her Global-produced podcast with Jamie Rubin.

The announcement sets a programming transition for both CNN International and public television stations. It is not an immediate departure. Replacement programming and exact final broadcast dates have not been verified by Radio News Now.
