Charly Edsitty and Christine Stanwood Join Arizona’s Family in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Arizona — Arizona’s Family has added Charly Edsitty and Christine Stanwood to its KTVK 3TV and KPHO CBS 5 newsroom.

In its October 2 announcement, the Gray Media station group said Edsitty will co-anchor Good Morning Arizona with Colton Shone on weekdays from 4:30 to 6 a.m.

Edsitty, who is Diné (Navajo), returns to Arizona after reporting for KTRK in Houston. The station describes her pairing with Shone as the first known all-Native American anchor team on a commercial U.S. television newscast. That characterization is the employer’s claim.

Stanwood joins the On Your Side consumer investigative unit alongside Susan Campbell after working at KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The station says viewers will see the additions beginning in mid-October, with coverage also available through its streaming platforms.
