Audio Treehouse is expanding its ambitions beyond advertising sales and into audio ownership, investment and operations.
On October 5, former Nueva Network CEO José Villafañe and former TelevisaUnivision and Spanish Broadcasting System executive Eric Garcia announced that Audio Treehouse and A. Garcia Venture will begin pursuing investments, acquisitions and operating roles across U.S. audio businesses in 2027.
The partnership says it will consider opportunities across formats, languages and platforms. That could potentially include radio stations, networks, streaming services, content businesses and audio-technology companies, although the executives have not identified specific targets.
Why This Matters
Audio Treehouse launched in September as an advertising company claiming access to more than 3,000 audio channels and 98% U.S. coverage. The new alliance potentially adds ownership, investment and direct operational control to that strategy.
For independent broadcasters, the important question is whether Audio Treehouse intends to acquire stations and digital-audio businesses, invest in them, manage them—or build partnerships that combine their inventory into a larger advertising network.
The company’s stated plans include revenue growth, profit-and-loss management, modernized operating systems, expanded digital and content businesses, and greater use of technology and artificial intelligence.
No Deal Yet
The alliance does not have a dedicated acquisition fund. The companies say they will evaluate opportunities individually and work with outside capital partners when appropriate.
No acquisition target, committed capital, investor or completed transaction has been disclosed. The announced timeline begins in 2027, making this a confirmed strategic expansion rather than a completed deal.

The RNN Angle
Audio Treehouse is moving from selling audio advertising toward pursuing ownership and operating opportunities. The next story is what it plans to buy—and whether independent Internet radio will be part of that strategy.
Verification note: The October 5 report includes direct statements from Villafañe and Garcia. Radio News Now could not locate a separate company announcement. The strategic alliance is confirmed, but no acquisition has been announced.
