Stingray announced October 19 that Ford Streaming Radio and Lincoln Streaming Radio apps are rolling out in selected vehicles in the United States and Canada, putting streaming stations, music channels and podcasts inside the dashboard.
The company says the catalog includes more than 100 curated, advertising-free music channels, over 100,000 radio stations and four million podcasts. Drivers can bookmark favorites and use voice commands.
Eligible models include 2025 and newer Ford Explorer and Expedition vehicles and Lincoln Aviator and Navigator vehicles, along with the 2024 and newer Lincoln Nautilus. The announcement does not describe availability across every Ford or Lincoln.
Access is only part of the story
For local broadcasters and independent internet stations, dashboard distribution creates an opportunity to reach drivers without asking them to install a separate station app. But a large directory also makes discovery more consequential.
Questions for stations include how listings are selected, how local results are ranked and whether listening information reaches the publisher. Drivers also need clarity about connectivity requirements and costs. Catalog size alone does not answer those questions.
