NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Zack Bennett has been named permanent host of Pure American Country, succeeding longtime country broadcaster Bill Cody, who died in June.
Bennett had served as the program’s interim host. His radio career began in 1999 and includes work with 95.5 Nash Icon, Westwood One and WSM in Nashville, where he spent nearly five years as assistant program director and an on-air personality.
He has also worked in planning and production for the Grand Ole Opry. Bennett joined the Pure American Country production team in 2024.
The appointment gives the program continuity following Cody’s death while placing an experienced country-radio programmer and broadcaster in its permanent host position.
