EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin — Kristen Shill has been named news director at WEAU-TV, moving across the city from WQOW-TV after nearly 14 years with that station.
Shill began at WQOW-TV as an audio operator and video editor before moving through newsroom leadership. She served more than seven years as news director at WQOW-TV, which is owned by Allen Media Broadcasting.
At WEAU-TV, a Gray Media-owned NBC television affiliate, Shill succeeds Rudy Murietta. Murietta left the station late last month after less than a year as news director.
The move creates a news-director opening at WQOW-TV while giving WEAU-TV a leader with extensive knowledge of Eau Claire and western Wisconsin.
