NEW YORK, New York — SportsNet New York (SNY) has canceled its daily studio programs “SportsNite” and “Baseball Night in New York,” effective immediately.

The network confirmed the cancellations in statements published by Sports Media Watch and the New York Post on November 6. SNY said the decision followed a regular review of its business, operations and programming.

“SportsNite,” launched with the network in 2006, provided daily sports news and highlights. “Baseball Night in New York” focused on the Mets and Yankees.

The cuts do not amount to a network shutdown. Sports Media Watch reports that Mets and Jets pregame and postgame coverage, “Mets Hot Stove,” a midweek Jets program and syndicated programming from WFAN will continue. The Post also reports that WFAN’s “The Carton Show” simulcast is unaffected.

SNY thanked the team members who produced the canceled programs but did not provide a staffing count in its published statement. The Athletic separately reported editorial layoffs; Radio News Now has not independently confirmed the number of jobs affected.

The network’s official website continues to promote its round-the-clock stream. SNY’s published statements did not detail a full replacement schedule.
