KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — Media Prima Berhad is consolidating major parts of its digital-audio operation onto Triton Digital, bringing podcast hosting, audience measurement and advertising monetization into one technology stack.

The agreement covers Media Prima Audio’s streaming and podcast strategy. The company will use Triton’s Omny Studio for podcast hosting and content management, Triton measurement services and the Triton Ad Platform for direct and programmatic advertising.

Media Prima Audio operates five Malaysian radio brands — Hot FM, Fly FM, Kool FM, Molek FM and Eight WuXian — along with the Audio+ app and on-demand content.

One stack for live and on-demand audio

The significance is the consolidation. Instead of treating broadcast streams, podcasts and other digital inventory as separate businesses, the group is moving production, distribution, measurement and monetization closer together.

Triton says the arrangement will also make Media Prima’s inventory available to advertisers and agencies through its advertising ecosystem with IAB-certified reporting.

Media Prima’s general manager of AI and smart services, Alex Poon, said the company’s audiences moved to digital faster than its tools did. That is a familiar problem for traditional radio companies: listeners often adopt streaming, mobile and on-demand behavior before the internal sales and measurement systems are rebuilt around it.

For broadcasters, the deal is another example of the industry shifting from a station-by-station digital strategy toward unified audio infrastructure that treats live radio, podcasts and on-demand inventory as parts of the same commercial system.
